We’ve been making slideshows since 2017.

It started at a friend’s birthday party in 2016. We wanted everyone’s photos and posts on one screen, and what we found was either too expensive or didn’t work as it should. So we built Slidesome.

Since 2017 Slidesome has put guests’ photos on the big screen at weddings, birthdays, conferences and company parties. In 2019 it got a two-year grant from Iceland’s Technology Development Fund (Tækniþróunarsjóður).

Over the years we learned what makes a night. Guests post more when they see their photos on the big screen right away. A photobooth gets the shy ones in front of the camera. A funny headline gets the whole room laughing. Afterwards, everyone wants the photos. And people want more privacy than they used to: a party belongs to the people who were there, not to a public hashtag on Instagram.

slideshow.is is what we built when we started over with all of that in mind. Guests post from their own phone, with no app, and the photobooth is built in. They can add fun overlays to their photos. No hashtags and no social media: the photos stay with your event, for the people who have its link, and they’re deleted when your plan’s time is up. Afterwards everyone has the album, and you can download every photo, or the whole slideshow to play offline. One payment per event, and free to start.
