Terms of Use

Effective date: 2 October 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of slideshow.is: the website, slideshows, guest pages, photobooth, screens, and related services (together, the "Service").

The Service is provided by Slidesome ehf, Icelandic company registration number (kennitala) 410618-0790, based in Iceland ("slideshow.is", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating a slideshow, posting to one, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

slideshow.is lets an organizer create a slideshow for an event. Guests scan a QR code or open a link to post photos, videos, and messages, which are shown on a screen at the event and in the slideshow's album. Organizers design the slideshow, approve or remove posts, and choose a plan.

Some features may be new or experimental. We may change or remove them.

2. Organizers

To create a slideshow you must be at least 18 years old and give a working email address. You sign in with a code we email you, or with a password if you set one. You must keep access to your email and any password secure, and you are responsible for what happens in your slideshows, including what the people you add to your team do.

As an organizer, you are responsible for your event: who gets the link, which posts are shown, and making sure guests may post photos of the people in them. Tell your guests what the slideshow is for if they might not know.

3. Guests

You can post without an account. By posting, you confirm that you have the right to share the photo, video, or message, and that the people shown in it are happy to be shown at the event. Your post may be shown to everyone at the event and to anyone with the slideshow's link. The organizer can remove your post, and so can we.

If you are under 16, only post with the permission of a parent or guardian.

4. Your Content

"Content" means the photos, videos, messages, names, images, and other material you add to the Service.

You keep all rights in your Content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, convert, and show your Content only as needed to provide the Service: for example, to show a post on the slideshow's screen and guest page, and to let the organizer download it. The licence ends when the Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies in backups that are removed on their regular cycle.

We do not sell your Content and do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.

5. Acceptable Use

You must not use the Service to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
  • post sexual content involving minors, sexual content without consent, violence, harassment, hate speech, or other harmful material;
  • post photos or videos of people who clearly don't want to be shown;
  • post spam, scams, or misleading material, or impersonate others;
  • upload malware or try to gain unauthorized access to the Service, accounts, or data;
  • get around plan limits, rate limits, blocks, or security measures; or
  • put an unreasonable load on the Service.

We may remove Content, block devices, or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, organizers, guests, or others. Organizers can also hold posts for approval and block guests.

6. Plans and Payments

The Free plan costs nothing. Basic and Pro are one-time payments for one slideshow; they are not subscriptions and do not renew. What each plan includes (how many posts, how long guests can post, and how long posts are kept) is shown on our pricing page at the time you buy. Pro has no post limit for one event, as our Fair Use Policy explains.

Purchases are processed by Paddle.com as our merchant of record. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase, and Paddle handles payment, receipts, and VAT or sales tax. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which includes a money-back guarantee.

We may change our plans and prices. A change never affects a plan you have already bought.

7. Keeping and Deleting

Each plan keeps a slideshow's posts for a set time, shown on the pricing page. When that time ends, the slideshow's posts and files are deleted automatically. Download anything you want to keep before then. The organizer can also delete a slideshow, or their whole account, at any time, which deletes its posts and files right away.

The Service is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of anything important.

8. Availability

We work to keep the Service running, especially during events, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Internet connections, venue Wi-Fi, screens, providers, maintenance, and events outside our control can affect it. If a paid plan does not work out for your event, our money-back guarantee applies.

9. Our Rights

We and our licensors keep all rights in the Service, its software, designs, and branding, except your Content. You may use the Service for your events as described in these Terms. If you send us feedback, we may use it freely.

10. Suspension and Ending

You can stop using the Service at any time, delete a slideshow, or delete your account in your account settings.

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if your use creates a security or legal risk, or if we must by law. Where practicable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right. If we end a paid plan without a good reason, we will refund it.

11. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We are not responsible for Content posted by organizers or guests. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for a slideshow is limited to the amount paid for that slideshow, or 100 US dollars if nothing was paid.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Consumers

If you use the Service as a consumer, you have rights under the law of the country where you live that these Terms cannot take away. Nothing in these Terms affects those rights.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Disputes go to the District Court of Reykjavík, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will give reasonable notice of material changes, for example by email or in the Service. The updated Terms will state their effective date. Using the Service after that date means you accept them, except where the law requires another form of consent.

16. General

We may use subcontractors to provide the Service. If a part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy are the whole agreement about the Service.
